Venue & Location
The Royal International Convention Centre
600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills QLD 4006
The Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) is part of the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct in the heart of Brisbane, located just 1.5km from the CBD and 15 minutes from Brisbane airport. Accommodation is available at several hotels close by (see below), with the closest being the Rydges Fortitude Valley Brisbane, located directly across the road from the Royal ICC.
Considered by many as the spiritual home of agriculture in Queensland, the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct hosts the Royal Queensland Show annually in mid-August, known affectionately by the locals as the ‘Ekka’. The first show was held in 1876 with 17,000 people attending on the opening day – a colossal success given that the total population of Brisbane at the time was only 22,000.
We are proud to be hosting this event at the Royal ICC, Australia’s only Green Globe certified convention centre, recognised for its commitment to sustainable practices and efforts to reduce its environmental impact. The Royal ICC also has a unique connection with Australian farmers and sustainably produced food, featuring award-winning Royal Queensland Show produce in its menu offerings at events held at the Royal ICC.
