ESG in Action

The AGIS Summit has partnered with the Brisbane Showgrounds Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC). It’s considered by many as the spiritual home of Agriculture in Queensland and is intrinsically linked with the industry on a food, farming, and community level.

Event Venue – Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane

The AGIS Summit has partnered with the Brisbane Showgrounds Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) as the spiritual home of Agriculture in Queensland and is intrinsically linked with the industry on a food, farming, and community level.

Home to Brisbane’s ’Ekka’ show, the Royal ICC celebrates Queensland food. Here, you will be treated to a menu featuring Royal Queensland Show award-winning food, sourced from local farmers with a focus on sustainable food production practices.

Additionally, the Royal ICC is recognised for its commitment to sustainability, being Australia’s only Green Globe Certified convention centre. The venue has a strong focus on recycling practices, waste reduction, energy efficiency, sustainable procurement, and water conservation. Through this partnership with the Royal ICC, we have proactively chosen a venue that celebrates sustainably produced food, supports local farmers, and utilises facilities committed to credible, sustainability-focused business practices.

Nature-based Regeneration

To further reduce the event’s carbon footprint, the AGIS Summit has partnered with a local Queensland nature-based regeneration project, the Cooroy Mountain Wildlife Corridor, to offset carbon emissions from the event.

Delivered by the Brisbane-based Reforest platform in partnership with Noosa and District Landcare, the event has aligned with the Cooroy Mountain Wildlife Corridor project. This initiative will offset carbon emissions from the event by planting trees, which will help restore the land and improve water quality in local waterways.

Powering Positive Social Impact – Royal Flying Doctor Service

The AGIS Summit supports rural and regional communities through its partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS), which provides vital medical services to these communities. Proceeds from the event will support the RFDS in continuing its crucial role across rural communities, highlighting the event’s commitment to fostering positive social impact in the bush.
